By participating in anti-racism training, employees can develop a deeper understanding of systemic racism, unconscious biases, and microaggressions. This knowledge helps create a more inclusive and respectful work environment, where all employees feel valued and supported. Anti-racism training also promotes empathy and develops foundational knowledge for the principles that underpin cultural competence in the various service areas provided by TDV Global (e.g. in evaluation work, facilitation, etc.). We also believe that anti-racism training helps us deepen our collaborations and partnerships within our organization and with our partners and clients.
All employees of TDV Global are required to take mandatory training on anti-racism, i.e., a minimum of one (1) of the courses listed below (or an approved equivalent training from any of the 12 organizations listed in the “Resources” section of this Policy). Employees are also encouraged to find and identify additional training courses that could be valuable, in the spirit of continuous growth and improvement of our resources.
As consultants, our work involves providing objective and unbiased advice to clients. However, unconscious biases can inadvertently influence our decision-making processes and interactions, compromising the integrity of our work. By engaging in unconscious bias training, employees gain a deeper understanding of the biases that may exist within themselves and learn strategies to mitigate their impact. This training fosters self-awareness, empathy, and cultural sensitivity, enabling consultants to approach client engagements with a more open mind, make fair and equitable recommendations, and build stronger relationships based on trust and inclusivity.
